What is spirulina?
Spirulina belongs to the family of filamentous cyanobacteria also called
blue-green microalgae, one of the oldest microorganisms that exist on Earth.
In nature, this algae grows in lakes near the equator, in India, Chad, and
Mexico. In some of these countries, spirulina is an integral part of people's
diets. Commercially, it is present in the form of dehydrated powder,
filaments, or tablets.

This microalga contains between 55% and 70% of quality proteins with a high
content of amino acids, including the eight necessaries for the human body. It
is also composed of unsaturated fatty acids of the omega-6 family and
chlorophyll. Spirulina is rich in trace elements and minerals such as
zinc, selenium, iron, copper, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, and
phosphorus.
The effects of spirulina on health
Its high content of high-quality protein gives spirulina the property
of suspending the physiological processes involved in cases of cancer. In
particular, it helps to stimulate the immune system. Spirulina also has
an antiviral and appetite moderating action for those who want to lose weight.
Its high iron content makes it an ideal food for vegetarians, anemic people,
and malnourished populations.
The chlorophyll it contains helps purify the blood by promoting the production

Spirulina also makes phycocyanin which has many therapeutic powers due to its
action on the production of stem cells such as white and red blood cells or
platelets. This element significantly improves immunity and blood formula.

present state of research, it seems to be a hope of a cure for leukemia.
